Quilting the string quilt!

Thanks for your votes for the backing - I went with the pink floral. We had a sunny day yesterday, perfect for some quilt top photos. I started quilting last night. Since it is backed with a sheet I am using polyester thread, a tip I picked up from Jeni at In Color Order.

Here is a picture of our lovely harbor town taken during "Blessing of the Fleet" last Sunday. The town gathers for a ceremony that marks the unofficial start of the fishing season for commercial fishermen in our area. The fleet are blessed to bring good fishing and safety to the crews of the vessels.
