Dorm Life!

Last weekend was parent weekend at Willamette University so I drove down to see my boy! We had a great visit. My BFF, Sheila, went down with me. We loaded him up on dorm stuff at Costco and Walmart, took him out for meals, went to a movie and toured the Art Museum on campus. Downtown Salem is quaint with great shops. Mitch showed us the local quilt shop. They carry great fabric! I practiced restraint but did get a charm pack of Kaffee Fasset. Saying good bye wasn't so hard this time because he is visiting home soon. On our drive back we stopped in Portland at Fabric Depot. Holy Moly!!! What a huge place!! They carry lots of premium fabrics, all for 25% off. I got a yard of Anna Maria Horner's new Field Study line. Fun! Then I was off to the clearance room where zippers of all different lengths were 25 cents! I don't think they get any cheaper than that! So yes....Fabric Depot = heaven.

Here are some pics from the weekend.

  2. I have been to Fabric Depot once... when I didn't have any $$ to spend! Next time we head down to the Corvallis/Lebanon area to visit family I am going to insist on a Fabric Depot stop on our way back home. My family used to visit Salem quite frequently as I was growing up and it is a nice town (city?). Sounds like you had fun!
